Mark Lindsay Bio

Mark's PicMark Lindsay was born and raised in New Jersey. He studied photography at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, where he received his bachelor's degree in Professional Photography. He went on to complete his coursework in a master's degree in Printing Technology. For the next 20 years he devoted his professional career to the graphic arts industry where he was a research scientist, manager, executive, and consultant.

In 1996 Mark devoted his energies to painting, cooking, and travel. He became a serious watercolorist, founded and ran an Italian cooking school while studying cooking in Italy for over ten years. A life-changing illness intensified his love of art and Mark returned back to school, this time to John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, CA where he recently completed his MFA in Studio Arts. Mark's graduate show was held at JFKU's Arts & Consciousness Gallery last October.

While Mark still paints, his devotion has returned to photography. He currently creates photomontage images, combining found photographs with state-of-the-art digital imaging and printing. HIs images were recently showcased at ColorGraphics in San Francisco. Our online gallery exhibits his work.

Mark is secretary of the Mission San Rafael Rotary Club and vice president of Whistlestop's Board of Directors in Marin County, CA. He resides in Marin County with his wife, Susie and three cats.
